The Teaching Channel is one of those resources that has sprung up over the past few years and has really begun to shine. It’s a unique case where teachers can find practical lesson plans, classroom management tools, and pedagogical tips from other teachers in a professional and easy to navigate way. I’ve yet to be disappointed in anything that Teaching Channel puts out, but with so many high quality videos a teacher with limited time may not know where to start. Here’s a few of my suggestions:

All teachers think they have the exit slip concept down, but here’s a neat twist that helps to assess student learning and provides feedback for future lessons.
This new student-role for groups resource is especially designed for those students who are shy or reluctant when it comes to group work.
These folders are a simple idea, but can really benefit a classroom.
This video is about promoting discussion in math using specific “talk moves,” but it can be translated into any number of subjects or grates.
Not only does this video model how to do a Socratic Seminar, but it also models how to deal with a very delicate issue in an appropriate way in the classroom.
This video is our absolute favorite, and we’ve posted it to our Facebook account in the past. It’s all about what to do when a lesson goes wrong and the process of fixing it for the next go around. It’s a great reminder that even the best teachers have bad lessons and that we can fix our lessons.
